Kings Heath Business Association Membership |
|
Founded in Autumn 2000, Kings Heath Business Association (KHBA) is a fast growing, fully independent and non-profit making organisation recognised by HM Government (the Home Office and the Dept of Trade & Industry), Birmingham City Council and West Midlands Police. The Association recruits its members exclusively from businesses and professional practices operating within ‘The Kings Heath Business Area’ (i.e. within a radius of up to 1-mile from the junction of Howard Road and Alcester Road South). Its current membership ranges from large, multi-national companies to tiny, one-person enterprises. All businesses are welcome, provided they are conducted in an honest, legal and decent manner. Already, KHBA has played an important role in the procurement of well over £1,000,000 in National Government and Local Government grants for the local area. These grants have been used to finance: additional and highly specialised policing, crime-busting CCTV cameras, Christmas streetlights plus various environmental improvement projects of special interest to local businesses.
ON-GOING OBJECTIVES • To represent – with a strong and authoritative voice – the legitimate interests, worries and concerns of KHBA members concerning local issues such as crime reduction, the provision of a more favourable environment for efficient and successful business operations, plus the protection, safety and security of people working, visiting or shopping in the said area • To work hard for KHBA members and help bring about the above mentioned improvements • To maintain its existing programme of regular monthly meetings, and thus create an effective ‘network’ of KHBA businesses in order to facilitate the many advantages of skill & experience exchanges, localised problem-solving, localised training, plus wider business opportunities • To generally raise the profile of The Kings Heath Business Area by aiding the generation of new business, new jobs, greater investment and increased prosperity • To help promote good relationships and mutual respect between KHBA members’ businesses and the local community
KHBA MEMBERS CAN ADVERTISE FOR FREE KHBA feels it is important that its members are able to publicise themselves and become well known to other local businesses and to the public at large. Therefore, on payment of the first year’s membership fee, each new member will be offered a webpage – free of charge – on which to promote itself (together with its products or services) on the successful KHBA website (www.KingsHeathBusinesses.org). Moreover,
all paid-up members are allowed to use 3-lines of free space in “The
Kings Heath Business Association Directory”. Those businesses that
require more space may purchase inexpensive display adverts in three different
sizes. This attractive (A5) hard-copy publication lists KHBA members only,
and thousands of copies are distributed free to local homes. So please
hurry if you wish your business or practice to be included, as it is already
being compiled and will be going to press shortly.
Because
KHBA is a 100% voluntary organisation, it is able to offer Full Membership
for only £25pa. Further details and Membership Application Forms
may be obtained by contacting the Membership Sec. Mr Steve Bairstow, on
