Independent businesses stole the show at the Kings Heath Business Excellence Awards, picking up the majority of the awards.
More than 100 people attended the event at the Hare and Hounds pub, which picked up the award for Best Night Out.
The event was hosted by town centre manager Kate Smart on behalf of the Kings Heath Improvement District and the awards were presented by local councillor Lisa Trickett.
A special award for Kings Heath Business Champion was awarded to Stan Hems, who owns Johnstans Butchers on Kings Heath High Street and has run the store for over 50 years in Kings Heath.
He was selected in honour of the hard work and dedication to the area.

Cathy Edwards, chairman of Kings Heath Business Improvement District, said: "The winners are an electric mix of local independents and national outlets, who all contribute to the wonderful variety available in Kings Heath - Its never been more important to support our local retailers, restaurants and other Business Excellence Awards are the perfect way to show our appreciation for the outstanding business community in Kings Heath.
The Kings Heath Business Excellence Awards is now in its third year and winners decided by votes from Shopper and local residents and mystery shopper results.
